The year 2024 just began and the Abragames team is already involved in a series of projects. Through the Brazil Games Project, a partnership between Abragames and ApexBrasil (The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), affiliated studios will participate in several international events. It starts with Kidscreen in February in San Diego, California, USA. Following that, in March, the focus shifts to GDC in San Francisco, California, USA. June marks the debut of gamescom latam, a collaboration between gamescom and the BIG Festival, and in August it's gamescom in Cologne, Germany. September brings XDS in Vancouver, Canada.

For all independent and innovative game developers, the festival will provide a gateway to shine in the Brazilian gaming scene. Until February 29th, devs can submit their games to participate in the event. It will be a unique opportunity for networking, recognition, and visibility in the industry. In addition, until February 29th, registrations for the Artist's Alley are open, providing a unique platform to showcase and celebrate the incredible artistic talent present in the world of games. The Artist's Alley will be a dedicated space to display the diversity and creativity of our community, further enriching the event experience.

2024 GDC DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP
The 2024 Diversity Scholarships Call for the GDC is now open
The announcement includes the distribution of 8 all-pass access tickets, each valued at over $2,000.
The Diversity Council of Abragames, in collaboration with the Latin American Federation of Video Game Developers, has announced the 2024 Diversity Scholarships Call for the Game Developers Conference (GDC).
This initiative aims to enable individuals from underrepresented groups in the Brazilian game industry to participate in GDC 2024, one of the largest events in the sector. GDC is scheduled to take place from March 18 to 22 in San Francisco, CA, United States.
The call will enclose the distribution of 8 all-pass tickets, each valued at over $2,000, for diverse individuals in the game industry who wish to participate in GDC 2024. Students and professionals in the game industry over 18 years of age, residing in Brazil for at least 2 consecutive years, are eligible to apply.
Diversity criteria outlined in the call include gender, race and ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, and age; candidates meeting these criteria will be given priority in the evaluation. A valid passport and U.S. visa are not required at the time of application, but it is important to note that, if selected, these documents will be necessary for ticket receipt.
The Diversity Council emphasizes that inclusion and diversity are fundamental pillars for the development and evolution of the game industry. And the initiative to grant tickets for GDC 2024 aims to promote equal opportunities and broaden the representation of diverse individuals in the sector.
