Abragames (Brazilian Games Companies Association) announced that the participation of Brazilian delegation at GDC 2022 (Game Developers Conference), the main global meeting for game developers, generated US$ 23 million in contracts for the country's studios, a result 27.7% higher than the initial target of US$ 18 million. After two years without an in-person event, due to the covid-19 pandemic, Brazil returned to GDC with 25 participating studios (17 in loco and 8 remotely), led by Brazil Games, an export sector project carried out by Abragames in partnership with Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).
The return of GDC (Game Developers Conference), one of the world's biggest conferences for games developers, is still in the minds of the Pipa delegation that visited the event in San Francisco. Without any doubt the event will be an influence for the entire company during the year. In addition to knowing the news and strengthening relations with multinationals, such as Google and Apple, Pipa's delegation had the opportunity to meet experts of the industry and take part in conferences and presentations, as well as make contacts for business. Pipa counted with Abragames support to visit GDC, and according Vanessa Gazel, Human Resources Director, this was crucial. Daniel Xavier, Pipa's CEO, concluded: “The importance of GDC is not just for gamers, the event is hugely important for developers too. Everyone is there, from tech companies to suppliers. If you’re an executive, game developer or player - or all three - at GDC you, certainly, will find something good for you!"
