The Game Developers Conference - GDC 2022 is coming and the Brazilian delegation will be present!
The Brazil Games Program, which is carried out by Abragames - Brazilian Game Companies Association, in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, ApexBrasil, is supporting the delegation that will participate in the event.
The conference, which is one of the most important on the calendar of game developers worldwide, will be in a hybrid format this year. The event that, in addition to providing a real return to meetings, but with care to include those who still do not feel prepared for it, will be the first in which our studios have the support of the Brazil Games Program in the year 2022.
There will be a total of 25 studios, including 17 in the on-site delegation and 8 who chose to visit the event online. And we still count with 3 booths in the GDC Play area!

BIG Festival
BIG Festival will be bigger
In its 10º edition, the biggest gaming event in Latin America is to be noted!
The event that is known for being the most important business and talent hub in Latin America announced its biggest edition. Designed as a hybrid event, it will take place from July 5th to 10th and has incredible news for our market, with the support of the Brazil Games Program, a partnership between Abragames - Brazilian Game Companies Association and ApexBrasil - Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency.
It's a golden opportunity for developers, not just in Brazil but globally, to meet with big players who see BIG as an opportunity to get to know Brazil's video game industry up close.
In 2022, BIG Festival celebrates 10 years of history with a special edition, and some news has already been announced, such as the partnership with Magalu, the ever-present Xsolla also announced their support for the event and the developers that are part of the Festival.

Fortis and Oktagon Games
Brazilian mobile game company Oktagon Games was acquired by Fortis.
The new global games company was born to be a giant, formed by veterans of game companies like Zynga, EA Tiburon and WB Games.
The company recently acquired three development teams: Doppio Games, in Portugal; Oktagon Games in Brazil and Metagame in Romania.
Oktagon Games, a mobile game developer, founded by Ronaldo Cruz in 2008, in Londrina, Paraná/BR, has 92 employees. Ronaldo Cruz is the CEO. Their most famous game is Magic Puzzle Quest. The company has been on this project since 2017 and the game is still active. Oktagon was one of the leading studios specializing in Liveops-as-a-service.

QUByte Interactive, in partnership with PIKO Interactive, announced a classic old school game, QUByte Classics - The Humans by PIKO that it is available for Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4/5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S|X since February 3rd.
QUByte Classics - The Humans by PIKO brings three games of the classic series The Humans; the PC version, the gameboy version and the classic Mega Drive/Genesis version, which is one of the first games of his time to present cooperation within characters to achieve the objectives and make sure your tribe will be alive at the end of the day.
The player controls a group of humans and may switch between any human at any time, in order to complete a level, it is often necessary to use certain tools or abilities, such as stacking to reach a high ledge. For example, the spear, a tool obtained in the first level of the game, may be thrown across gaps to other humans, used to jump, thrown to kill dinosaurs or other enemies.

South Africa and Brazil
A partnership that is generating business
At the beginning of 2022, representatives of the South African industry, with the organization of the Brazilian Embassy in the country, invited representatives of the BIG Festival and Abragames - Brazilian Game Companies Association, for a conversation. This was the basis for the beginning of a journey that aims to strengthen the relationship between the two industries. On April 28, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm BRT, at an event open to the public, these two emerging markets will discuss Education and Training, as well as opportunities for growth and partnerships. A partnership between ApexBrasil and Abragames resulted in this event that brought a better understanding of this billionaire market.
ApexBrasil via its Jerusalem office and Abragames - Brazilian Game Companies Association organized this event that took place on February 8th. The result was the introduction of this industry that presents relevant opportunities, with a series of analyses, numbers and interesting debates.
Special guests were Uri Admon, Game Designer, Behavioral Scientist, Member of the Direct Board of GameIS - Abragames counterpart in Israel, CEO and Founder of Captain Up and Shai Benbasat, a Technology and Gaming Specialist, TV Presenter, YouTuber and Consultant . After their speeches and presentations about the industry, the event followed with a dynamic interaction with the audience in which many questions were answered so the ecosystem in Israel could be better understood, and the opportunities between these two countries could be better visualized!
