Studios are Invited to Submit their Games to the International Independent Game Competition; Panel Submissions Now Open
São Paulo, Brazil (October 14, 2020) — Brazil's Independent Games (BIG) Festival, the largest independent games festival in Latin America, is thrilled to announce today that submissions are now open to studios who wish to enter the International Independent Games Competition. Submissions are also open to developers, publishers, and industry professionals who would like to enter a panel suggestion and present a talk during the event.
With support from the Brazil Games Export Program, a partnership between the Brazilian Game Companies Association, ABRAGAMES, and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), BIG Festival carries on the tradition of providing a fundamental business hub for video game professionals across the globe through its lectures, networking events, and face-to-face meetings.
The eighth edition of BIG Festival will take place at the Frei Caneca Convention Center in São Paulo from May 5 to May 9, 2021, with programming available both at the physical show and online. BIG returns with a renewed focus on its three core pillars — lectures from highly respected industry professionals, face-to-face and virtual business meetings, and the expansive and fan-favorite consumer festival. BIG Festival is also pleased to bring back the International Independent Games Contest, which features 18 awards categories and gives independent teams a chance to showcase their creations to an audience of their peers and the world.
“We are excited to once again bring together developers, publishers, and video game industry leaders to meet and learn from each other,” said Gustavo Steinberg, President of BIG Festival. “We look forward to sharing the games developed by so many talented independent studios during the consumer festival and Independent Game Competition, along with the knowledge and experience of some of the industry’s brightest minds during the festival’s panels and lecture sessions.”
Studios who wish to submit their game or lecture suggestion may do so on the official BIG Festival site: https://www.bigfestival.com.br/index.html.
